Survey Final Blog Post

1. Creating questions was a strange process because I didn't want the questions to be boring, but at the same time I didn't want them to be too complex either.
2. In my survey, I included pictures and tried to cover all areas within the subject of Streaming.  Other members in my group focused only on one single aspect of Streaming.
3. Yes, it showed me that there are more boys that stream videos than girls, and most of them are teenagers.
4. Yes, my survey told me that most people who stream videos are younger, and they mostly do it at night.  Also, my survey tells me why people stream videos.
5. 15 responses.
6.  The class can be put into groups and given tasks that they can do in the classroom.  The winning team would get a prize chosen by Mrs. Conner.  A team wins when they win 5 tasks.

Marketing Mix Applied Post

The business that I am going to be starting is Elite Sports, an athletic company that sells clothing and accessories to better one's athletic abilities.  Our products will be made for all sizes and ages which, at the moment, will only be sold in the Boston area.

We will have a number of competitors in this large business.  But out of all of them, Nike will be the greatest.  As far as product, Elite Sports and Nike are very similar.  The products that we directly make all serve the same purpose.  The one thing Nike has against us is its brand because it has dominated the market for so long.  Because it costs so low to make, Elite's products will not be as expensive as Nike's products which is very good for us.  As far as promotion, Nike beats us by a landslide because of all the professional athletes that promote their products.  Also, Nike beats us in the category of place.  Nike sells worldwide, while Elite Sports only sells in the Boston area.

Nike has been around for so long developing its marketing mix.  In almost every category, besides price, Nike beats Elite Sports by a landslide.

Nike Case Study

Nike is mostly known for its sports clothing.  But the case study done by one group in class made a proposition for Nike to switch into a different form of the sports market with Nike Juice.  Similar to Gatorade, Nike Juice would be a new and interesting drink that would no doubt be popular with the population of the world.  I liked this presentation because it showed a new and different way for a well established company to expand their business.

Chapter 4: Economic Impact of Sports Marketing
- You could use grassroots marketing to build a following for Nike Juice.
- Nike could have one or a few famous athletes to endorse the drink.
- Nike Juice could be expanded to a whole product line of sports drinks/foods.
- There are many sports consumers who would be interested in this new Nike product.
- Nike Juice would be a Tangible Product for athletes and everyday people.

I would like to research Adidas.  Even though it is very similar to Nike, I am interested to know how they became so big despite being in Nike's shadow.

The product that I am going to be selling is Massage Flip Flops.  They will cost only $55, only $10 more than the leading high-end flipflops cost.  The competitors mainly use magazines and the internet to advertise their product.  I will sign a contract with DJ Khaled, a famous DJ and music mogul, to wear my massage flip flops in his very popular snap chat stories.  They will also be sold on Wethebeststore.com. DJ Khaled's personal online clothing store.  Lastly, high-end flip flops is, at the moment, not a huge industry and the majority of them are sold online.  I will seek to strike a deal with Sports Authority to have my flip flops sold in there stores nation-wide.  With these details, I will out-sell my competition.

Boston Olympic Champion Ryan Melley???

Dear Boston,
On the subject of you thinking that you can hold the 2024 Olympic Games, you cannot.  I commend you on being ambitious.  I respect that you are dreaming big, but in this case, your dream is too big.  You just do not have the size to hold such a big event.  I would not be able to get to work!  Ryan Melley would absolutely win the gold in Ping Pong, but I think even he would want the games to be elsewhere.  I respect you, Boston.  But just, why?

Patriots....Again

This post is my second post for Computer Applications.  Once again, I am going to talk about the New England Patriots.  The game finished with the Patriots crushing the Miami Dolphins 28-0.  Once again, I am very satisfied with the score.  However this win did not come as a surprise to me.  The Dolphins haven't had a reputation for being a good team since Dan Marino.  So this crushing win was expected.  Even though they are number 2 in the AFC East, this is only because the Jets and the Bills are absolutely terrible this season.  So, with that said, bring on the Broncos.

The Patriots

Welcome to my first blog.  This blog is for my High School elective, Computer Applications.  This is my first post with no topic in particular.  What did you think the Patriots game on Monday?  I was very pleased with their 42-14 win over the Texans.  The defense has been stepping it up on the field, and as always, the offense gets the job done from the start.  This Sunday will be an interesting game against the 49ers, the clear dominant team in the NFL.  I guess we'll see what happens then.
